Welcome

We are glad you are here.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is a welcoming community of faith in South Huntsville where people gather to worship God, grow in faith, and serve our neighbors. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church after time away, or looking for a spiritual home, you are welcome here.

Each Sunday we gather to pray, hear scripture, celebrate Holy Communion, and encourage one another as we seek to follow Jesus in our daily lives. Our worship is rooted in the Episcopal tradition—ancient prayers, thoughtful preaching, beautiful music, and a spirit of reverence and openness.

What to expect.

When you visit St. Stephen’s, you will find a relaxed and welcoming community.

Our worship follows the liturgy of The Book of Common Prayer, a pattern of prayer that Christians have used for centuries. During the service, you may notice people standing, sitting, kneeling, or making the sign of the cross. These gestures are simply ways some people express prayer; you are always free to participate in whatever way feels comfortable.

All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you prefer not to receive communion, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing or remain in your seat.

A community of faith and service.

Life at St. Stephen’s extends beyond Sunday worship. Throughout the week our parish gathers for fellowship, formation, and service.

We share meals, host community gatherings, and work together to care for our neighbors through ministries such as our monthly Beans and Rice food distribution and other outreach efforts. Our campus is also home to a thriving Child Development Center, connecting us with many families in our community.

We believe that faith is something we live together—in worship, in friendship, and in service.

There's a place for you here.

The Episcopal Church has often been described as a “middle way”—a place where ancient tradition and thoughtful engagement with faith come together. Questions are welcome here. Curiosity is welcome here. People from many different backgrounds and experiences find a spiritual home here.

Most of all, we want you to know that there is a place for you at St. Stephen’s.

We hope you will join us for worship and introduce yourself. We would love to meet you.
